Bridal Hair for Winter Weddings
While spring is undoubtedly the most popular time of the year to get married, there are many positives to a winter wedding, (especially here in Australia.) The temperature is dropping but that doesn’t mean your wedding plans have to go cold. We’re going to call it and say winter weddings are looking hot hot hot!
Romance is the true essence of a wonderful wedding, and there is an undeniable sophistication and elegance that comes with tying the knot in the cooler months. Imagine your guests huddled up in front of an open fire. Sipping mulled wine instead of champagne, in an intimate candlelit venue, and cuddling up to your groom without sweat running down your legs under your gown… Are you convinced yet?
Venues will be more easily available, there is less chance of rain in the winter months, and your flowers are going to last the distance – at least until they are dived for after the bouquet toss! And if faux fur capes and roaring log fires aren’t enough to persuade you, then perhaps the reassurance of beautiful hair and makeup all day and night, might just do it!
Here at Twidale, our vision for beautiful bridal hair this winter is loose tousled, and ‘un-done’ hair – perfect for our winter weather. A lot of the time we try and steer brides away from having their hair down, especially in the hotter months. The Queensland humidity can mean disaster for wedding hair. Often after as little as an hour or two, the hair starts to expand, and your hair will start to look fluffy. This is not something you want to experience considering your wedding day will continue for a period of 10 hours or more, and we want to be able to guarantee the same (or a very similar) finish to that when you first finished your hair and makeup.
We absolutely love the chic bohemian finish. Styles like soft curls, distressed braids, and wispy undone chignons can be perfectly executed in the winter months with that all-important reassurance of longevity for your wedding day.
