Summer Hair and Makeup Looks We’re Loving
Sun Kissed Eye Shadows
To complement the glowing tans everyone’s sporting after a few weeks of beach trips, we’re loving the sun kissed, bronze colours in our eye shadow palettes. Hot tip: if you don’t have a shade like this or you’re looking for a super natural, summer-inspired look, use your bronzer as an eye shadow in the outer crease of your eye and along your lower lash line.
Brushed Up Brows
Did you know that thick eyebrows make you look younger? As well as giving your face more structure, a great set of eyebrows will give you an instant youthful look. And luckily, the brushed up brow trend we’ve been seeing everywhere lately (many thanks to Cara Delevigne) makes this look easy. Grab a high-quality eyebrow gel and use diagonal upward strokes towards the edge of your face.
Sparkly Inner Eyes
Adding a shimmery, light colour to the inner corners of your eyes is a truly mind-blowing simple makeup hack. The shimmer reflects light, making your eyes look open and bright. We absolutely looove this look in summer, but it’s also great for any occasion where you’re trying to mask tired eyes.
Slicked Back, Wet-Look Hair
This look dominated the Spring Summer 2018 runways, and we can’t wait to try it out this holiday season. Run your fingers through wet hair with a styling product to get this sleek look. But keep in mind, the key to wet-look hair that doesn’t look like you’ve just stepped out of the shower is neatness. So hold it in place by pushing your hair behind your ears and adding an invisible bobby pin to each side.
What goes better with a Summer dress and a tropical cocktail than a glowing, dewy makeup look? To pull it off, try It Cosmetics’ ‘Your Skin But Better’ CC+ cream. It’s a moisturiser/anti-ageing cream/SPF50+ sunscreen that has truly amazing coverage. We also love the skincare from Rodan and Fields for achieving that light, refreshed look. Your skin will look healthy and hydrated all Summer long.
Babylights for Fine Hair
Is your hair in need of a colour refresh? To get a natural, sun kissed look during the warmer months, try babylights. This form of hair colouring involves very subtle, fine highlights spread throughout your hair. It’s great for people with fine hair, where normal highlights may look too overwhelming or heavy.
